52 Week Photo Project - Week 8: Something Red

I didn't look ahead to next weeks topic and the pictures I took for this week would have been perfect for next week. Oh well I am going to share anyways. Just over 8 weeks ago I sat down and put together an 8 week menu. I don't repeat a single meal and yes it is color coded based on the kind of meat in the main dish. It has seriously been the best thing EVER! I hate coming up with a menu and then making a grocery list and then going grocery shopping. This way the menu and list is already made and I just grab the shopping list (already printed) cross off the things I already have and off to the store I go. I love that I know what I am having for dinner each night and don't have to ask or think of something. My family has been eating better, a bigger variety of meals, at a more consistent time and we eat out less. It has seriously been life changing. So what does that have to do with the color red? Well for dinner yesterday we had Chicken and Black Bean enchilada casserole with green beans. (click on the link to see the recipe) The enchilada sauce is red. ;)

How did you interpret the topic of "something red?" Take your picture and post it on your blog. Add a thumbnail of your picture and a link back to your blog below. You will be able to link your photo through midnight on Thursday, February 28th. Don't forget to link back to my blog from your blog post so that others can join. If you don't have a public blog to post your picture on you can post your picture in the Google + community. To join the Google+ community you need a gmail account and you will need to request an invite.There is a category set up for each week. Birthday Girl {Utah Children Photographer}

This sweet girl is so excited to be 6!!! I tried to talk her out of getting older and explained to her that she would never be able to show her age with just one hand but she would have nothing to do with it. She is ready to be 6!!! When I take pictures of kids I want to capture their personality and that means not always getting the perfect smile but the funny faces too. Those are the faces that we as mothers see everyday and although that grumpy face might not be endearing today it will be when they are all grown up.

Do you have a special milestone or event coming up and need pictures to preserve how you looked at that moment? Call or email me to schedule a session. (iotamaker@gmail.com 435.764.3598)

Newborn Charmer {Utah Newborn Photographer}

  Check out this little charmer. Newborns are always so sweet to photograph. I can never get enough of their little parts from cute little button noses to their sweet little toes. I also love capturing the relationships between the little newborn and his/her Mom and Dad. Is there anything more precious or fleeting.
  Are you ready to have an important relationship in your life captured? Call or email to schedule your session. I specialize in senior, family, individual (baptism, missionary, birthday), couples and newborn photography. (435.764.3598 ~ iotamaker@gmail.com)

52 Week Photo Project - Week 7: "Someone You Love"

  Happy Valentines day to you all. I hope you were able to spend your day or at least talk with someone you care about. We had a typical busy day with preschool, school, parties, homework ect. We did have a nice few minutes after all the homework was done, piano and guitar practices to exchange some small gifts and play with a new family toy.
  After we finally got the kids settled I snapped a few pictures of the most important person in my life, my amazing hard working wonderful husband. He works so hard to provide a comfortable lifestyle for myself and our kids. I married well.
 Who is important in your life? Is it a person or a pet? Do you live with this person or is it a long distance relationship? Capture someone you love and then post it on your blog.  Add a thumbnail of your picture and a link back to your blog below. You will be able to link your photo through midnight on Thursday, February 21st. Don't forget to link back to my blog from your blog post so that others can join. 52 week Photo Project - Week 6: Kids' Bedroom

  For this weeks assignment, Kids' Room, I wanted to share a picture of my son and what I find him most often doing at night in his bedroom. Brock is an avid reader like his mother.  We both have a really hard time putting a book down and going to sleep. If we would let Brock, He would read late into the night and sometimes on weekends we do let him read to his heart's content. Right now Brock is reading "The Fire Eternal" by Chris D'Lacey. It is the 4th book in the Last Dragon Chronicles.
  What I really like about this photo is that I captured not only him but his shadow on the wall. I thought it was pretty cool and unique.
 How did you capture your kids' bedrooms? If you don't have kids pick any room in the house or a place where you spend most of your time.  Add a link back to your blog and thumbnail of your picture below. You will be able to link your photo through midnight on Thursday, February 14th. Don't forget to link back to my blog from your blog post so that others can join. February Workshop: Chantilly

Chantilly WOTG Layout

  This month we will be creating 4 layouts with the Chantilly WOTG and coordinating accessories. Yes you read that right. FOUR LAYOUTS!! I was having so much fun working with this paper and I had plenty of extra so I created a bonus layout. The class will be on Thursday, February 21st from 6:30 - 9:30 at my house. If you would like to come email me with your order by February 5th or place your order online by the same date. Be sure to join the February Workshop order.  Are you long distance? No problem. I would be happy to email you the cutting guide for all four layouts. I have also posted the shopping list below. I pulled a bunch of accessories from previous workshops to accessorize the fourth layout so some of those items are not included on the shopping list. If you have any questions let me know. 52 Week Photo Project - Week 5: Bathtime

We have reached the wonderful milestone when all the kids can shower! My role on "shower night" consists of deciding who goes first and timing showers (so there is enough hot water for everyone). Jason's job is brushing out all the hair. Brock and Mikele brush their own hair but Kassie and Allie still enjoy having Dad brush out their hair for them. It also gives us the opportunity to make sure that they got all the soap rinsed out.
 What does your bathtime routine look like?  Add a link back to your blog and thumbnail of your picture below. You will be able to link your photo through midnight on Thursday, February 7th. Don't forget to link back to my blog from your blog post so that others can join. If you don't have a public blog to post your picture on you can post your picture in the Google + community. To join the Google+ community you need a gmail account and you will need to request an invite.There is a category set up for each week. Just click on the week 5 category and then add your picture and comment to the thread. You can check out the entire year's calendar and read more about this project on this post.
